Effect Pigments

GOLD
Pigments known as bronze powder, constituted by lamellar particles of copper, zinc and aluminium alloys covered with stearic acid. Beside the copper coloured characteristic, the different alloys generate the traditional golden colours: rich gold, rich pale gold, pale gold and ducate gold.

These metallic pigments generate very attractive decorative metallic effects, with extended use in printing inks, adding sophistication to packages, labels and decorative product lines in general.

This product line does not provide protective characteristics to the paints.

GOLD PELLETS
Pelletized bronze powders that present same qualities as Gold. Additionally avoid dust and environmental contamination during its dispersion in paint production. They are also easily dispersible in solvents such as ethyl acetate.

ALUMINIUM PASTES
Aluminium paste, leafing type, made of lamellar particles covered with stearic acid.

This product line has as characteristic the particle orientation in the uppermost layer of the paint film, applied and positioned in a multi-layer form parallel to the substrate.

This orientation provides a unique esthetic shiny effect that provides the applied system with a protective barrier, good coverage, corrosion resistance, thermal reflection, etc.

Aluminiun paste, non-leafing type, made of lamellar particles covered with oleic acid.

This product line has as characteristic the particle orientation in the middle layer of the paint film, applied in and positioned in a multi-layer form parallel to the substrate.

This orientation provides differentiated effects that adds a metallic shine to the applied system, besides allowing dying with highly transparent pigments, which can generate finishing in silver or in a large range of metallic colours.

SILVER
Non-leafing type, special aluminium pigments made of lamellar particles covered with oleic acid. Stanlux Silver goes through a rigorous classifying procedure that provides particle distribution in closed curve patterns.

This product line has as characteristic the particle orientation in the middle layer of the paint film, applied in and positioned in a multi-layer ideal form parallel to the substrate.

Due to the format, granulometric distribution and particle orientation, shiny differentiated metallic effects are obtained, which allow dying with highly transparent pigments which generate finishing in silver or in a large range of metallic colours.

The typical applications for Stanlux Silver are automotive paints (OEM, refinish and auto-parts), plastic paints and other systems that require high quality metallic effects.

ALUMINIUM PELLETS
Pelletized aluminium pigments, leafing type that avoid dust during handling and as consequence also avoid environmental contamination.

PASTES FOR WATER BASED SYSTEMS
Aluminium pastes compatible with water-based systems.

We recommend a pre-dispersion of the products in deionized water or preferably a mixture of deionized water and some type of glycol. This pre-dispersion is later added to the resin in an emulsion form or preferably in a solution form and later added to the other components of the formulation.

Another relevant recommendation is the realization of a strict stability test prior to defining any kind of formulation.

FLAKES
Aluminium particles in lamellar form with large superficial area. This characteristic provides the product with high reactivity, which is explored in explosives, pyrotechny, pesticides, and cellular concrete among other segments.

Products with coarse granulometry are excellent in generating decorative metallic effects in plastic and some other specific applications.
