The appearance is transparent and flat powder, having longer diameter, smoother plane and higher refractive coefficient than common pigment. Pearlescent Pigment is able to bear acid, alkali and temperature to 800℃; it has the characteristics such as no spontaneous combustion, no combustion-supporting, no electric conduction and nonarcing; good stability of light; some products are able to bear ultraviolet radiation, suitabe for usein the open air; it is non toxic to human, can be used for packaging material of food (Stipulating by the rules of the counties) Pearlescent Pigment has many different products according to the color and size. The size of the particle may affect the pearl shine; Bigger the particle is, stronger the shine of the pearl, weaker the power of shade is; smaller the particle is, the shine of the pearl is like silk, and having stronger power of shade. The shine of pearl is produced by multiple reflection of light. So the pearlescent pigment being mixed with more transparent material, produces a more beautiful pearl shine. The pearlescent pigment also can have better reflectance when mixed with transparent pigment or dye. One avoid mixing with opaque elements or pigments that have better coverage together, such as titanium dioxide and ferric oxide, this will eliminate the pearl shine. Color pearlescent pigment can produce all kinds of particular shines according to the principle of color mix. Pearlescent pigments are mechanically stable when incorporated into vehicles using conventional low shear mixing. To prevent excessive fragmentation of the pigment platelets high shear equipment, such as ball or pebble mills should be avoided. Nonarcing: the pearlescent pigment is not electric and nonarcing. Some powdery metal pigments have more safety restrictions when deposited, so they are processed as liquid metallic pigments. But the pearlescent pigment can be processed as powder, so it has its advantage to replace common metallic powder. High Temperature Resistant: the pearlescent pigment has the characteristic that is high temperature resistant to 800℃, so it is suitable to use in high temperature. Acid/Alkali Resistant: the pearlescent pigment is chemicalresistant, it is suitable to use as colorant in the materials that include acid and alkali. |
