HITOX (high grade titanium dioxide) is a high quality, cost-effective, beige and gray coloured rutile titanium dioxide pigments produced by TOR Minerals. Most titanium dioxide is pure white, but HITOX demonstrates that whiteness is not a pre-requisite for effectiveness in colour formulations.
In products which require opacity and colour i.e. non-white paints, Hitox pigments can reduce the amount of expensive organic & inorganic pigments as well as white TiO2. Depending on the finished colour desired, HITOX can replace from 15-100% of white TiO2, and may also allow the reduction of coloured organic and inorganic pigments, achieving considerable savings.
Applications: Hitox STD (Beige) – Can be used in a broad range of Paint and Coatings applications, including Architectural, Coil Backers, Powder, Container, Wood, Traffic, Primers, Adhesive & Sealants and Roof Coatings – basically all non-white applications where colour is required.
Hitox Gray (Grey) – Well suited for use in gray primers, powder coatings and other decorative and industrial paints. In addition to cost savings, HITOX gray can eliminate or reduce the use of black pigments which are typically difficult to incorporate due to floatation problems.
Product Range: Hitox® Buff – Beige
Hitox® Gray – Grey

Description: Yellow Iron Oxides are not heat resistant and can only be used below 180ºC-190ºC. At such temperature, the goethite structure of the Yellow Iron Oxides turns into the hematite structure characteristic of the Red Iron Oxides. Therefore, a colour change from yellow to red is clearly observed.
The way to prevent such colour fading is to protect the yellow iron oxide structure with an encapsulation to withstand high temperatures (260ºC, 5min), allowing it to be used in niche markets requiring high temperatures. Moreover, Encapsulated Yellow Iron Oxide, shows all the excellent attributes which are characteristic of such range of pigments.
In addition, it can be used as a replacement for Pigment Brown 24 (PBr24) and red organic pigments both in Plastics and high temperature cured Coatings. This substitution allows formulating beige, green, red and brown colour shades at reduced cost keeping the same chemical and physical properties.
Black Iron Oxide is recommended for use in the coatings, ink and construction industry.

TIOPREM BEIGE & GRAY are high performance TiO2. Beige & Gray Coloured Hybrid Pigments produced by Tor Minerals. TIOPREM offers excellent Heat Stability to over 500°F / 260°C, making it suitable for use in High Temperature resins like HDPE, PP, PA, ABS and PC and Coatings. Typical applications are Plastic Master Batch, Colour Concentrates and Liquid Colour. Most titanium dioxide is pure white, but HITOX demonstrates that whiteness is not a pre-requisite for effectiveness in colour formulations. TIOPREM exhibits good opacity and is cost-effective in formulation, partially replacing more expensive heat stable pigments as well as white Titanium Dioxide.
In products which require opacity and colour TIOPREM pigments can reduce the loading of the more expensive organic & inorganic pigments as well as white TiO2. Depending on the finished colour desired, TIOPREM can replace from 15-100% of white TiO2, and may also allow the reduction of coloured organic and inorganic pigments, achieving considerable savings.
Applications: Plastics & High-Temperature Coatings
Product Range: Tioprem® Buff – Beige

Description: Ultramarine Blue is an inorganic pigment whose colour has been classified as Pigment Blue 29/C.I. 77007 by the Colour Index System. Chemically it is a sodium aluminum sulphosilicate.
Ultramarine Blues are the most widely used blue pigments because of their unique colouristic and performance attributes. Ultramarine Blues provide a unique reddish undertone blue colour and are able to easily tint whites, greys and blacks with a bluish undertone, to enhance the best of such colours. Moreover, Ultramarine Blues lack metamerism; therefore, they do not change colour in function of the illuminate.
Food Contact Packaging / Toys / Cosmetics and Personal care products / General Packaging / Electric and Electronic Equipment / Textile / Automotive / Construction / Fertilizers / Plant Protection Products / Paints & Coatings / Paper / Industrial applications / Artist Supply and Hobby preparations.
In addition to this very specific reddish blue shade, Ultramarine Blue is an excellent white corrector that neutralizes yellowish shades. This whitening effect is widely appreciated in many fields of application e.g. plastics, coatings, detergents.
Ultramarine Pinks provide very similar performance to Ultramarine Violets, with even more reddish shade.
Ultramarine Pink is mostly used to reach pinky shades in Plastics. Its low tinting strength can become advantageous vs organic pigments because it provides a very transparent pink shade with little colour saturation. It is also very suitable to combine with “Effect pigments” to reach unique colour effects too.
Ultramarine Violets are mostly used in Plastics to reduce the yellowish tendency of some resins and to provide brightness to white-coloured Plastics. They can also be used to provide a violet shade to all sort of Plastic parts. As Ultramarine Blues, they lack metamerism; therefore, they do not change color in function of the illuminate.
Ultramarine Violets’ properties are very similar to Ultramarine Blues’ in terms of:
Compatibility with all kinds of polymers
Easy-dispersion
Maintenance of polymer’s dimensional stability
High heat fastness (300ºC, 5 min)
Excellent light fastness
Very good weather fastness, especially in the case of well-stabilized to UV light formulations
Good resistance to alkalis (without the presence of high % of Calcium ions)
Insolubility, avoiding migration tendencies
Transparency, what make them very suitable to combine with “Effect and Metallic pigments” to reach unique color effects
Environmentally-friendly profile
Safe product in processing and final-use
Recommended for use in niche coatings applications, eg. powder coatings, coil coatings, stoving paints or any other coating that requires high heat fastness.
